Thobeka Yakophu  Dancer, Facilitator, Freelance Artist

Thobeka Yakophu was born in SOWETO White City Jabavu started dancing at Acro Dance Theatre in 199.Her first performance was at Shell road to fame and Tv 2 Ngomgqibelo .In 1997 she join the company called Soweto Dance Theatre wish was formed by the late JACKIE MBUYISELWA SIMELA , she perform at Art Alive ,Dance umbrella ,Soweto carnival ,Gauteng carnival , Grahamstown ,Botswana, Swaziland ,Ivory coast, London, USA and Holland. In 2003 she was nominated as a promising female dancer in Dance umbrella.

In 2004 she went to Brazil with Nomsa Manaka dance studio to represent South Africa in a carnival, that year she joined a Dance Company called Umkhonto traditional group presenting Ubuhle besintu and preform in Grahamstown, Maputo, China and Cuba.2011 she was one of the performers in the opening ceremony of AFCON.

In 2010 she join Dinganga Theatre Creation’s under THABANG RAMAILA she was one of the dance performer in the production called Ndlovukazi, Bawelile, Amawele, The frontliner. Tour and perform at Soweto Theatre, Grahamstown and she was one of the choreographers for the kid production called Thuto-Buhlale which performed at Soweto Theatre and Joburg Theatre.2011she was nominated as a professional dance at Dance Manyano
